Don’t Phunk with my Wallet

After the catastrophe of cooking on my own, the next day I ate from delivery, just to be familiar with some “nice” food. However, I was focused on my plan to save money, have homemade food and eat healthy (from now on SMHFEH plan)
So I sat on my desk and started again, now with a cold head to think about where to begin. Here I

These days the tendency is to cook less and less at home and to eat out or take away, being the cheapest day around 70 kunas a day excluding the daily 1 or 2 coffees (15-20 Kn), this makes a working day to cost around on average 85 kunas (11.3 €) during the weekdays, giving a sum of 1700 Kn (226.6 €) a month for food not made at home.

This big hit on my pocket made me come to conclusions, the amount of money spent on delivery is quite high, secondly, my health: most of the food that’s provided out of home is based on bread, fats (and not always good ones) and cheap carbohydrates such as potatoes, rice, and pasta. Another observation is every time I order food it takes around 1 hour to arrive home/office and by that time everything is soggy and cold, losing all the appeal that could have had when it was just made.
Since I am not rich and I wouldn’t want to get a heart bypass by the age of 35, I think I will have to jump into the adventure of using my kitchen and explore the wonderful world of cooking at home!
